Jan 24, 2007 And since all the weapons and equipment in Rogue Galaxy each have a unique look, it can be fun to work your way up to that next seven-star sword for Jaster. Rogue Galaxy has an imaginative look and expressively detailed characters, and the quality of the voice work is quite good, all of which makes the story sequences fun to watch even when they're predictable. One nice touch is how most of the story cutscenes are rendered using the game's 3D engine.
I played this game ages ago on my ps2 and got pretty far I think (the mines? I don't remember much except I enjoyed the gameplay enough that grinding was never an issue and I rarely had problems dealing with bosses. However I remember very little of the actual game and how the stats work. One thing I remember doing is indiscriminately fusing weapons. I do believe there is an indicator that shows that the weapon almost always improves but I'm not sure how good of a strategy that really is. Like i said, i don't remember ever having trouble and i fused weapons like there was no tomorrow. I would regularly buy a multiples of the same weapon from shops just to fuse them.
Is this actually a good strategy? Btw, i do know that some weapons have more pronounced elemental abilities and fusion changes these. Just have fun and combine whatever you wish. The Toady recommendations are just for his frog log completion, they do not necessarily mean you will create strong weapons. Early game most fusions are an upgrade as long as the weapons being fused correspond to your characters level. If you want to get the strongest weapon, then fuse your legendary sword with high level swords, for the last fusion you will need a lvl 40+ weapon, and from it you will receive the Earthshaker which is incredibly powerful.
The best indication of a weapon's usefulness is it's 'Power.' That's how much damage it does, straight up. As long as your weapons are consistently going up in power, you're doing a good job. Make sure you're not using early-game weapons to do this later because A) They won't enhance your weapons much when combined with a better one and B) Using an early-game weapon much later in the game than the developers intended makes killing things take FOREVER.I don't pay much attention to the elemental things.
You learn through practice that some weapons can burn enemies, others paralyze, etc. If you want me to, I'll tell you the optimal strategy for Jaster's weapons throughout the game(I just want to make sure you don't mind me telling, since you might want to discover it yourself), otherwise, just keep upgrading and eventually you'll get max level weapons for everyone.
